At Agile we are always keeping on top of the latest training techniques. Agile hosted the Balanced Body Pilates Reformer 2 continuing education course this month, where Sam, Sarah, Lindsay, and Louise completed their Reformer Level 2 certification. We are unique, incorporating Pilates in our Physical Therapy treatments to improve strength, control and body awareness.

What is Dry Needling ?

Trigger point dry needling is a skilled intervention we utilize daily to treat musculoskeletal dysfunction and reduce pain for our patients  Dry needling can be performed in any muscle of the body and is a safe, effective technique to alleviate pain.  Dry needling consists of inserting a small, thin needle into the affected muscle belly and eliciting a localized twitch response. The result is reduce localized and referred pain throughout the body.

We commonly use dry needling for:

  • Headaches and facial pain

  • Neck and back pain

  • Shoulder pain and frozen shoulder

  • Tennis elbow

  • Hip and knee pain

  • Plantar fasciitis

  • Muscle strains

  • Nerve entrapments

One of our previous students Breanna is currently hiking the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine while she awaits starting Physical Therapy School at UAB in the Spring. She is currently 2 months and over 700 miles in. Such an inspiration to the Agile team!
