Samantha Newcomb

Physical Therapist

Samantha grew up in the Birmingham area graduating from Thompson High School where she was active in cheerleading and gymnastics. This is where her passion for exercise and rehab began. She loved competing in local and national competitions and was awarded UCA Individual All-Star Cheerleader. Prior to entering Auburn University, she continued working with gymnasts and cheerleaders as a choreographer. While at Auburn, Samantha worked closely with the School of Kinesiology as a student Ambassador. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BS in Exercise Science and a minor in Psychology. She is an avid Auburn fan and loves going to football games with her husband and their 3 boys. 


After graduating from UAB with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy, she has been working primarily in orthopedics and sports medicine although she also has experience with infants and adolescents with developmental delays and congenital abnormalities. She was a consult PT for Alvin Ailey II Dance Company in 2014 as well as the 2017 Kinky Boots and 2018 Book of Mormon Broadway shows. She also worked with Legacy Gymnastics as a consult PT. 


Since joining Agile, she has pursued her Balanced Body certifications in Pilates Reformer and Cadillac/Trapeze Table and is continuing her Pilates training with Chair and Ladder Barrel. Samantha uses a variety of techniques to improve her patients function including Muscle Energy Techniques, Joint Mobilization/Manipulation, and Myofascial Release/Soft tissue mobilization along with Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation through her training with the Institute of Physical Art. She is certified in Trigger Point Dry Needling and Fascial Movement Taping as well as trained in Running Video Gait Analysis and Instrument Assisted Manual Therapy.
